OH ALRIGHT THEN - some extra intel for you long readers...

I wrote Lividly Lonely during what can be best described as a 'dry patch' in my personal life in 2015. I stole some chords from Laurence Crane's magnum opus Raimondas Rumsas, whacked on some clonky beats, played the spoons and then whinged all over it like a petulant teenager. Produced by moi with additional prodding from Paul White and Joe Goddard. Hope you like.

As a little romantic bonus V Day bonus I've included the original recording of my version of Lauryn Hill's Ex-Factor which I made on Martha's Vineyard, a few weeks before the end of a long-term, long-distance relationship. It's a slightly teary, snot-filled, one-take vocal with a chorus of local catbirds in the background.
Lividly Lonely was the first of a batch of songs that appeared in my noodle seemingly out of nowhere five years ago. The others aren't a whole lot prettier and feature on my forthcoming album Murderous Me. I'm hoping that once I've got this out of my system I can to go back to making nice music again. Let's see shall we...

I haven't heard anything as just completely perfectly formed out of the gate--every decision the right one, what to include but more what to exclude--maybe ever.
